HBO Documentary on Brooklyn Dodgers.....Just Great
Last night I stayed up late to catch the HBO Documentary on the Brooklyn Dodgers. What a show! If you have not seen, you should! It was just an amazingly factual, poignant and emotional telling of the history of the Dodgers days in Brooklyn.

IT IS CONFIRMED RICKY IS BACK
The impatience -- and relative lack of productivity -- of Mets hitters seemingly led to impatience with hitting coach Rick Down. New York has dismissed Down and hired a man known for his patience at the plate. Rickey Henderson is in place to help invigorate the offense, though Howard Johnson and not Henderson will assume most or all of Down's responsibilities.

Down out Henderson In
A change was needed to try to spur the bats, and since you can't fire the millionaire players for not producing te coach will always take the fall. As for Henderson......well I would say he has done a good job working woth the younger Mets stars, Reyes, Wright, and even Beltran. So why not let him try to help everyone. Injury Update

-Oliver Perez: He made rehab start yesterday. So far, so good. No problems reported, so he could return Sunday.

-Jorge Sosa: Not as advanced as Perez. He’ll be back later than his eligible date of July 16.

-Juan Padilla: Don’t count on him this year.

-Duaner Sanchez: The Mets aren’t writing him off for this year, but he’s a long shot.

-Pedro Martinez: He’ll throw in rehab games by the end of the month. The hope is by the end of August he could be ready.

-Moises Alou: Still at least two weeks away from rehab games.

-Endy Chavez: See Alou, and add at least a week.

-Lastings Milledge: We could see him this weekend.

Jose Gets Mad!!!
The happiest player in all of baseball, Jose Reyes had a near melt down yesterday in game 1 at Philadelphia, when he erroniously called out while attempting to steal second base. Reyes, who smile always even after striking out, went into a rage rarely seen from him.
